I wanted more depth

The writer did not really write about why she likes things she just wrote what she likes
she likes pizza doesn't like the opening act she does like the opening act she likes the song she likes this album she doesn't get into why
What I found really annoying was that she constantly mentions videos and pictures and yet there's very little material in it no links no screenshots
I expected something more substantial
if you just want to read what songs they played this is the place to go if you want to read what hotel to stay at this is the place to go you want to read who has the best pizza this is the place to go

You can be on the road with U2......

In the 1988 U2 film Rattle and Hum while being asked –“what is this film about” the band jokingly said, “It’s a musical journey”; and that’s what I thought about when I read Deena’s wonderful adventures on the road following the band. It’s a flowing account of her journey seeing the band as well as a path to self-discovery. Bono recently said that “it’s tough being a U2 fan” because of the bands almost 40 years in existence and he nailed it!! Being a fan since 1982, when I proclaimed them to be the greatest, I’ve often come under attack from peers over years presenting me the most popular bands on the day or the most popular singer being better than U2. I often just smiled and reflected on the many live shows and what I consider to be some of the best songs written and performed. This book took me back to shows that I attended and at times made me feel like I wasn’t alone in how I felt about these wonderful gentleman that put of the best music that possibly can and performing the best shows to date. I think most of us at one time dream about hitting the road, throwing caution to the wind and following their favorite band but life often gets in the way. Deena’s account allowed me to walk/dream in her shoes and go on the road with her. It was also nice to read that we probably passed each other at a few show. This book is a must read for any U2 fan and a great read for any music lover. Thanks Deena for sharing you travels and life with us. Can’t wait to re-read a few shows. By the way if you ever write another book and need a story I got a great one of how I scored tickets to Zoo show 1 in Lakeland FL!! : ) Let the road trips go on!! Dream Big and Dream often!!

I've always wondered what it would be like to be a die hard fan of anything and ...

Deena has been a U2 fan for as long as I have. She just had the luck and a few other variables to be able to literally follow the band around the country during the past few tours and write about it.
I've always wondered what it would be like to be a die hard fan of anything and to have the opportunity to follow that die hardness (for lack of better wordage). Deena has shown fellow U2 fans that it is possible.
While I'm jealous that she has had the experiences that she has, reading this also renewed my faith in my fandom of the band (I've been a hard core fan since probably 1984) and of the fellow die hard fans such as myself.
U2 fans, at least those of us who consider ourselves 'lifers' are a really cool group of people. We have formed friendships from previous tours and thanks to the power of the internet, Facebook and the band's website, we are able to keep in touch in between tours.
I've never met Deena in person, yet. She's already planning on following the band for most of the North American tour this spring/summer so I'm sure I'll have the chance for thanking her for writing a very insightful memoir about something she and many others are so passionate about.
